Bottom-Up Learning Approach

Feb 22, 20261 min read

Bottom-up approach is a learning method done by starting from the very basics, and use learned concepts as the “base” for new concepts.

Example

In Introduction to Mathematical Statistics, we first learn about random variables. We then use this learned definition to learn random samples, then use that to learn statistic, use that to learn estimator, use that to learn unbiased estimator, use that to learn efficient estimator, and so on.
